Sometimes people say they feel badly for wome…

Sometimes people say they feel badly for women in Africa who have to walk many miles to get fresh and clean water. I was told by women in Africa that they are at times puzzled by this concern for their long hiking trips that they deem necessary. As they walk erect, like perfected statues of strength and grace, they are communing with those on the same journey. They ask: “When would we talk, laugh, gather in solidarity if we did not need to walk to get water?” No woman is an island. We need each other to walk on the journey of life and keep us company throughout the many seasons. This camaraderie has been a life jacket, a life boat, and at times provided life itself in tough times in my own life. Look to see what sister might be next to you, willing to walk with you through your season of joy or sorrow or whom you might lend your hand, smile or shoulder on their journey. Wisdom will lead us to each other. Look for her, she’s waiting for you. She’s there waiting for you!
