I wanted to inspire “Hope”for all people by advocating the dreams of the Special Olympics athletes through writing and recording my song “CHAMPION” and filming my music video on the Great Wall of China. The song is about taking action and making a difference in your life and in others lives through being an example of “hope”. It’s also about overcoming adversity, believing in yourself, never giving up now matter how the odds are stacked against you and working as hard as you can to achieve the goals and dreams you have set for yourself in your life.
I believe that you can achieve anything you want for your life – no matter what – through hard work and believing in the dream that you have and stopping at nothing to make it a reality. It doesn’t matter who you are, what socio-economical background you have, where you live, who you love, or what kind of environment you were brought up in are subject to. I believe we all have the choice to be much more than just who we are — and I wanted to inspire greatness in others with my song, and be an instrument of hope to light the way for the dreams of people like me, or like the athletes of the special olympics, or of anyone who feels like they have a dream but aren’t sure how to achieve or don’t know if they can overcome what negative obstacles that might lie in their path. I KNOW everyone can make their dreams and aspirations come true despite any odds they may THINK lie in their path — because I AM LIVING PROOF of that. I am an independent artist, doing everything on my own, with no help, no prior business knowledge, finding my way in a very confused and treacherous music business that is falling apart – literally finding my way through the dark (or should I say “fighting my way”)…on a “wing and a prayer” and a shoestring budget. But my vision is clear, and I remain strong when the chips are down, I believe in myself and know that I can do a lot of good with my music to help those in need.
So I give you “CHAMPION”. Please take my message to heart. And know that no matter what, you can be what you want and have what you want in life. You must be strong. You must have faith and you must have patience. If I can do it…with the set of odds stacked against me (that I never think about), with my own learning dissabilities, and the day to day obstacles in an economically adverse industry that is upside-down, anyone can make their dreams come true. I promise.
